She’s My Type graduated on debut here Dec. 7 and added Lasix for this step up to black-type company. Showing good early initiative from the 12-hole, she was wrestled back into seventh by Tyler Gaffalione through early fractions of :23.09 and :46.24. Splitting horses to move into contention on the backstretch run, the dark bay seized command in the lane and held off a late charge from More Reasoning for a narrow victory.

“She’s a really talented filly. She overcame a lot today. I didn’t give her the best of trips,” rider Tyler Gaffalione said. “I moved a little early on her. I tried to get out on the turn. I didn’t want to wait too long and get boxed in. She had such a turn of foot and so much raw ability. All the credit goes to Mr. Clement. He’s been telling me for a while how nice she is. She proved it today.”

The winner has a juvenile full-brother named Sensible (Fr) and a yearling half-sister by Anodin (Ire). Her dam is a half-sibling to MGSW Blacktype (Fr) (Dunkerque {Fr}), who was also trained by Christophe Clemenet.
