YLIKEDIS (Street Sense) was a $170,000 sale at Fasig Tipton Gulfstream in 2019. She was purchased by owner Kingsport Farm. She won her first 2 at Laurel and has now returned to the Fair Grounds where she won today. She overcame a bump and had to split horses, but got up for the win. She is trained by Ignacio Correas, IV

When trainer Alan Greeff awoke to a gale-force tailwind bearing down the Fairview straight on Friday he had his reservations about his talented sprinter Regimental being able to pick up his feet when it counted in the R90 000 Glendore Sprint.
But the local champion needn’t have worried – Regimental, running in blinkers first time, showed an almost arrogant turn of foot deep into the home run to make up lengths on the pacesetter in the 1000m non black-type feature.

With Ridgemont Highlands rider Greg Cheyne confidently biding his time, Regimental stormed up the outside inside the final 200m and went on really smartly at evens to win under a relatively soft ride in a nice time of 56.11 secs.
The gallant Big Bay (8-1) looked set to try and cause the upset late, but he capitulated to run a 1,75 length third as What A Winner (6-1) went past him to run a 1,25 length second.
Regimental looked promising early on and won on debut for Brett Crawford in September 2019 when raced by former Mayfair Speculators Racing Manager Derek Brugman in partnership with an international mix of owners, including Mr and Mrs Antony Beck, Anna Doyle, Kip Elser of US-based Kirkwood Stables, Dr Jill Warner of Carry On Alice fame and Henry Bozo of French-based Ecurie des Monceaux.
He was bred by Klawervlei Stud and is a son of the champion farm’s deceased star sire Captain Al (Al Mufti) out of the Lawyer Ron mare Crazy About Me, who won six races in the USA.
Originally purchased for R1,7 million off the 2018 Cape Premier Yearling Sale, Regimental has established himself as a leading sprinter in the Eastern Cape and took his stats to 7 wins with 6 places from 21 starts.
Six of his victories were achieved since he arrived in the Eastern Cape, where the polytrack is clearly his preferred racing platform, with 4 victories on the all-weather
He has earned R310 187 and, while he is unlikely to ever recover his original purchase price, that’s all academic as his second phase owners are having fun.
Muzi Yeni, who rides the big race favourite at Turffontein later today, was the most successful jockey on the day, riding a double for trainer Zietsman Oosthuizen.
Alan Greeff also got two on the board. He saddled the feature winner and the yard went 1-2 in the final race when Richard Fourie got favourite Grazinginthegrass home in an easy victory from stablemate Chile Jam (Greg Cheyne).
Racing at Remington Park, GODDARD (Tapit) got up in the final stride to break his maiden. He raced 7 furlongs on the dirt for trainer Todd W. Fincher
and owner B. Ray Willis. He was bred by Winchell Thoroughbreds, LLC.
