DUVAL runs off with allowance win at PARX

Five year old gelding DUVAL has traveled around the country and earned over $269,000 with a wonderfully consistent record of 27: 6-5-8. He is now owned by Ten Strike Racing and trained by Juan Carlos Guerrero. Today, going off the heavy favorite,  he dueled briefly for the lead, got it and the rail position and sailed to a 2 length win going 6 furlongs on the dirt at PARX.

Posse gelding FOR LATER graduates at Belmont

NY Bred three year old FOR LATER was bumped hard at the start and ended up at the back of the pack, but when asked he responded and edged clear for a 4 length maiden win at Belmont. He is owned by Anthony M. Perri and was bred by  Merrylegs Farm North, LLC

IMPRESSED IMPRESSIVE IN HIS MAIDEN WIN

Impressed, a three year old gelding by Silvano (GER) out of Inspired (IRE), broke his maiden very impressively going 7 furlongs at Durbanville Race Course in South Africa on Wednesday. He is owned by an international partnership: Kip & Helen Elser and Alice Knowles of the U.S., Peter & Anna Doyle and Con & Teresa Marnane from Ireland, and the Kieswetter family in South Africa. He is trained by Brett Crawford.

DEFONDO wins 2nd in a row at Woodbine

Four year old El Corredor gelding, DEFONDO stepped up into allowance company at Woodbine having  won his first start there with some ease. He raced on or close to the lead and won by a length, this time going a mile on the turf. He has earned over $133,000 for owner West Point Thoroughbreds.

BRILLIANT BELLE wires the field at Churchill

Three year old filly Afleet Alex filly, BRILLIANT BELLE, broke her maiden 2 races back at Keeneland, was second last out and now has won again. She went right to the lead, set the pace and drew off in the stretch to win by 5 lengths. She is owned by Margo Scott and was bred by Tracy Farmer.

MANITOULIN graduates going long on the turf at Belmont

Three year old colt, MANITOULIN, by Awesome Again and out of Champion and   MGISW,  SOARING SOFTLY enjoyed the added distance of 1 3/8 to break his maiden in MSW company.  He settled behind the first flight of horses and made his bid for the lead heading for home.  From his outside postiton five wide he  wore down a fellow closer and won  by a length. He is owned by Darby Dan Farm and was bred Phillips Racing Partnership (KY). Like RECEPTA, who is from this same amazing female family, he is trained by James Toner.

Great day at the Races for Kirkwood Grads

Graded stakes placed TOM’S READY made his first stakes win a big one. He exploded from last to first to win the $500,000 G2 Woody Stephens S  on the Belmont S. undercard . He is owned GMB Racing and trained by by  Dallas Stewart. TOM’S READY has earned $577,220,

Also on the Belmont undercard, GSW RECEPTA closed with a strong kick to finish second in the G1 Longines Just A Game S for the Phillips Racing Partnership and Pam Gartin. She was bred by John W. Phillips & Hank Snowden and is trained by James Toner.  RECEPTA is closing on $600,000 in earnings.

Icing on the cake was INCONCLUSIVE‘s win in the Northbound Pride Oaks at Canterbury Park. The 3 year old filly was already graded stakes placed, but is now also a stakes winner. She is owned by Carolyn Friedberg and Jeff T. Larson and was bred by James Heyward.

West Point’s DEFONDO scores at Woodbine

He raced 6 1/2 furlongs on the all weather track and hit the lead before leaving the backstretch and did not give it up. He has earned over $100,000 for owner West Point Thoroughbreds.

Quite a Day at the Races for Kirkwood

Graded stakes winner RECEPTA closed out her winning ways last year taking the Fasig-Tipton De La Rose Stakes at Saratoga followed directly by  the Noble Damsel Stakes – Gr. 3 at Belmont. The Breeders’ Cup was not her cup of tea. The 5 year old Speightstown mare is getting going in 2016 with a third today in the Beaugay Stakes – Gr. 3 also at Belmont. She was had all sorts of trouble in the race. Watch for her next time. She is owned by Owner: Phillips Racing Partnership and Pam Gartin and was bred by John W. Phillips & Hank Snowden. She has earned better than $466,000.

Also at Belmont, HIT IT ONCE MORE, a Hard Spun  3 year old colt,  racing for August Dawn Farm, won a  62000 n1x allowance race. He was bred by JMJ Stable and has earned just a tick under $100,000.

Wine Not graduates at Belmont

Three year old West Point owned gelding, WINE NOT,  has been on the board in all 4 of his prior starts.  Today he got the job done winning a MSW at Belmont going a mile on the dirt. He started mid pack towards the rail and worked his way outside to challenge seriously in the stretch, went at it head to head and got the head bob for the win. He has already earned over $66,000.  The First Dude gelding was bred by Frank Hopewell Runner`s Dream Farm.
