Impressive Start for Wine Not

WINE NOT, a three year old colt owned by West Point Thoroughbreds and prepped at Kirkwood Stables, had his first start this weekend at Aqueduct – a sprint at 6 furlongs, which is not his best distance. That said, he stayed near the back to begin, kicking it into high gear at the turn and made up 8 spots to finish 2nd. If there’d been more room to run, first would have been within his grasp. This is a colt with a real future.
