7th-Fair Grounds, $45,000, Msw, 12-20, 2yo, f, 1 1/16m, 1:45.48, ft, 2 1/4 lengths. BERNABREEZY (f, 2, Bernardini–Super Allison {SW, $157,043}, by Super Saver) lagged well back before finishing with interest to be fifth debuting over a mile on the Churchill dirt Nov. 14 and was made a 24-5 proposition stretching out to two turns here. Breaking a length or two slowly, the dark bay traveled all by herself in second last behind fractions of :24.51 and :49.04, started to creep closer inside the three-eighths pole, swung five wide off the far turn and charged to the lead nearing the furlong grounds, kicking clear from there for a 2 1/4-length success. Favored Hidden Wonder (Curlin) completed the exacta.

The winner is the first foal out of her dam, a $72,000 Fasig-Tipton Winter Mixed purchase by Machmer Hall in 2018 who produced a colt by Catalina Cruiser this term before being bred to Volatile.

5th-Keeneland, $83,921, Msw, 10-20, 2yo, 6 1/2f, 1:17.63, ft, 3/4 length.

FAN THE FIRE (c, 2, Hard Spun–Fanfare, by Curlin), second behind subsequent GI Runhappy Del Mar Futurity third American Xperiment (Nyquist) on debut in an off-the-turfer over the Saratoga mud July 30 and third behind unbeaten GIII Iroquois S. winner Major General (Constitution) second out there Aug. 21, stretched to a mile and switched to grass with a non-threatening eighth in the Kentucky Downs Juvenile Mile S. last time Sept. 6. Back on dirt here, the even-money favorite sat the trip in an inside third and was locked and loaded awaiting racing room in traffic rounding the far turn. Guided out four wide at the top of the stretch, he came with a sustained rally to get past Mumayaz (Bodemeister) for a 3/4 of a length decision.

Fanfare produced a filly by Overanalyze in 2020 and a colt by Nyquist this year.Fan the Fire’s third dam is GISW Victory Ride (Seeking the Gold).

DEFENSE WINS (Flatter) victorious at Santa Anita a $175K Fasig Tipton Gulfstream Grad, he pressed the pace and rallied for the win racing 6 furlongs on the dirt at Santa Anita. The 4 yr old gelding was claimed out of the race and we wish his new connections great racing luck.

Racing 7 furlongs on the dirt at Keeneland, BUTTON BOY ( Flintshire (GB)) raced towards the rear early and then came wide to clear the field to graduate by 2 3/4 lengths.  He was bred (KY) and is owned by his breeder and Helen Richards.  Lifetime Record: 5-1-0-1, $47,340.

Making his  2nd start, 2 year old BARBERINI (Flintshire(GB)) was forced to race wide throughout due to his outside post, but he dug in to break his maiden by a head at Delaware Park. He raced a mile on the dirt for trainer Arnaud Delacour and owner/breeder Rhianon Farm.

UNIDENTFIED MAN (Vancouver (AUS)) made it 2 in a row going a mile and seventy at Delaware Park. This time he rated and then cleared for a strong  win by 2 1/2 He broke his maiden earlier this year at Oaklawn. UNIDENTFIED MAN is trained by Greg Compton for owners Danny Brown and Charis Brenneman-Smith.

Racing 5 1;2 furlongs at Canterbury Park, RUNNIN HAPPY (Runhappy) angled to the rail and steadily found room to clear the field to graduate in her first start. She is trained by  Eric L. Heitzmann for owner Stone Bridge Investments.
