Hit It Once More graduates in a MSW at Aqueduct

Three year old Hard Spun colt, HIT IT ONCE MORE, graduated in a MSW at Aqueduct. He overcame a bad stumble at the start and when it counted, he sailed to the lead and won by over 6 lengths going a mile on a fast track. He is owned by August Dawn Farm and is trained by Gary Sciacca. With his win and on the board finishes, he has earned over $62,000.

Animal Instinct wins at Keeneland

ANIMAL INSTINCT, by Leroidesanimaux (BRZ),  found the winner’s circle at Gulfstream last out and he liked it so much he won at Keeneland to make in 2 in a row. As in his maiden win going long on the turf, he comes wide from behind and times the wire perfectly. He was a $160,000 purchase by West Point Thoroughbreds and was bred by Anthony Robinson.

Two wins for Kirkwood grads at Turfway

Three year old filly INCONCLUSIVE added graded black type running second in the G3 Bourbonette Oaks at Turfway.  She made a sweeping move with 3 furlongs to run and was gaining on the winner. She is owned by Carolyn Friedberg and Jeff Larson and was bred by James Heyward.

On the same day also at Turfway, AFLEET LADY, also three,  broke her maiden for her owner/breeder Tracy Farmer. She edged clear late for the win in her third start lifetime. Afleet Lady had been second in her two earlier starts. 

Lost Iron breaks maiden at Aqueduct

LOST IRON, a three-year-old Flatter colt, broke his maiden at Aqueduct going 1 1/8th on the inner track. He is a half to MGSW turfer Takeover Target (Harlan’s Holiday), who’s winnings total $625,935. He had a slow start from post position 1, raced initially between 2 horses, then going wide, he accelerated after the dueling leaders. He swept past the favorite to win by two lengths. He was a $190,000 sale for Kirkwood at OBS April and was purchased by owners H. Clarke, P. Braverman, A. Albstein, T. Murray & C. Robertson. He is trained by William I. Mott.

Two top spots for Kirkwood grads this Saturday

TOM’S READY, already graded stakes placed in the LeComte S. G3, stepped up into G2 company in the Twin Spires Louisiana Derby. He overcame a bump at the start to gain his second graded stakes placing, crossing the line in 2nd. Trained by Dallas Stewart, he is owned by GNB Racing and was bred by Blackstone Farm. He has earned over $300,000 for his connections. 

On the same day but at Parx, 5-year-old horse DUVAL annexed his 4th win, bringing his earnings close to $200,000. He is owned by Ten Strike Racing and was bred by Mark Reid & DDS Stables.

Street Surrender wins at Santa Anita

West Point’s three year old filly STREET SURRENDER overcame tight quarters to graduate sprinting at Santa Anita. Squeezing through on the rail to seize control in mid-stretch, the filly sailed to a decisive 3 1/4-length success. She was bred by Sally Thomas & New Dawn Stable and is trained by Wally Dollasse.

Clair de Lune wins at Aqueduct

Tracy Farmer’s three year old filly CLAIR DE LUNE kept her record perfect going two turns at Aqueduct.  The Chad Brown trainee went right to the lead and put away all rivals  nearing the stretch and pulled steadily clear to win by 6 1/2 lengths.  An earner of  $76,600 in 3 starts, CLAIR DE LUNE was bred by Julie Berta, Bob & Rae Horton & Charles Middleton (KY).
